Here is a note from the artist...
A Wish is a piece that I created which represents something more to me than just what is visually presented. A breakdown in not only color and form, but also in communication, especially regarding and through the communication of ideas. Distortions and abstract feelings are visible here in this liminal space. Created by sketching out the original shape on paper, I eventually digitized it and took the original form of the object and manipulated it in Photoshop. Utilizing the destruction of color, the background is a pattern of strange cellular-like blobs, but by looking at it from different perspectives, you can see how the pattern contributes to the piece as a whole, and maybe what it once was, while the subject of the piece dances in the middle of the frame in a shape and texture that doesn't seem to belong in this space. What these things physically are may not be clear, but they represent a feeling, sensations, concepts, and a state of mind. There's a wish here too.
